Quicker F4 UAE rivals for Aberdein
South Africa’s Jonathan Aberdein has made the inaugural Formula 4 UAE championship his own since the series commenced last year, putting his Team Motopark Tatuus-Abarth on pole for every race so far and going on to win all ten races so far, in spite of having to twice overcome reversed-grid starts along the way.
But it may not be all that easy for the Cape Town driver for the balance of the Gulf series, starting from the coming race at the Dubai Autodrome 27-28 January, as Jonathan now faces some stiffer opposition with several ADAC Formula 4 hopefuls joining the series to like Aberdein, prepare for the German series starting later in the season.
“Yes, it isn’t going to be all that simple anymore,” Jonathan admitted. “We have two more fast drivers in our own Motopark team, which means they will have just as good preparation as us and then there are a few more new guys to the series driving for our rivals too. “So maybe we will have to fight harder, which is good.
“From my side I’m looking forward to driving after the long Christmas break and I plan to carry on with my winning streak — it will be a bit tougher now that there are a few more experienced drivers but that just gives me motivation to work harder and be even better prepared for the ADAC championship this year — bring it on!
